Frequently Asked Questions

About Our Offerings

What is Yoga Sound Bath?
Yoga Sound Bath offers experiences that blend movement, mindfulness, and sound healing to help you restore balance and deepen your connection to yourself. Our sessions range from gentle yoga and meditation classes with live sound to deeply immersive private sound baths and hypnotherapy sessions.

How does sound healing work?
Sound healing uses vibration and frequency to support the body’s natural ability to relax, realign, and restore balance. Instruments like crystal singing bowls, brass bowls, gongs, chimes, and drums produce resonant tones that interact with your nervous system, helping to slow brain waves, reduce tension, and promote deep rest. Many people experience sound healing as a reset for both body and mind.

What kind of yoga do you teach?
We teach a gentle, mindful style of yoga focused on breath, presence, and nervous system regulation. Classes emphasize longer-held postures, intuitive movement, and deep relaxation rather than strenuous physical exertion. Each class includes live sound elements that support emotional release and energetic balance.

Do I need prior yoga experience?
No experience is required. Our classes are accessible to all levels — we focus on awareness and release rather than flexibility or athletic ability.

Sessions & Scheduling

How long are your classes and sessions?
Group sessions are typically 60 minutes. Private sound baths are 60 minutes, and private hypnotherapy sessions are 75 minutes. Each includes time for relaxation and integration.

What happens during a private sound bath?
Your practitioner will begin with a short grounding meditation, then guide you through an immersive sound experience using a combination of instruments such as crystal bowls, gongs, and chimes. The sounds are intuitively selected based on your energy and needs in the moment.

Can I bring someone to a private session?
Yes and no. You can add additional participants to private sound baths for $40 per person. Private hypnotherapy sessions are for one person. Please contact us directly to schedule multi-person sessions, as these cannot be booked online.

How do I schedule?
All sessions and events can be booked online through our website. If you don’t see a time that works for you, please reach out — we’re happy to explore additional scheduling options.

Sound Baths

What happens during a sound bath?

A sound bath is a deeply relaxing, meditative experience where you’re immersed in layers of sound from instruments such as crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and other harmonic tools. You’ll rest comfortably—usually lying down—as waves of sound guide your body and mind into states of rest, release, and renewal.

What instruments do you use?

Each session is unique, but you may hear crystal singing bowls tuned to the seven chakras, gongs, chimes, rain towers, ocean drums, or the gentle tones of the handpan. Every instrument is chosen intentionally to create a balanced, energetic flow and emotional experience.

How is sound healing different from meditation or yoga nidra?

Meditation and yoga nidra use guided awareness or visualization to quiet the mind. Sound healing works through vibration and resonance, helping the nervous system shift into a restorative state. The sound bypasses mental chatter and supports relaxation, even for those who find it difficult to meditate.

Do I have to know anything about chakras or energy healing to participate?

No prior experience is necessary. Each session is fully guided. Simply show up, get comfortable, and listen.

What are the benefits of sound healing?

Sound healing promotes deep relaxation, reduces stress, supports emotional release, improves sleep, and restores energetic balance. Many participants describe feeling lighter, clearer, and more at ease afterward.

How will I feel afterward?

Most people leave feeling calm, grounded, and refreshed. Some feel energized, others deeply peaceful. It’s also common to experience emotional release or mild fatigue as your body integrates the experience. Staying hydrated and allowing time to rest helps this process.

What should I wear or bring?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to relax fully. We provide everything you need—mats, blankets, bolsters, and eye pillows—so you don’t need to bring your own. If you have a personal comfort item you’d like to use, you’re welcome to bring it.

Should I eat before the session?

A light meal or snack beforehand is best. Avoid coming on an empty stomach or right after a large meal so your body feels comfortable throughout the session.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive 15–30 minutes before the listed start time to settle in and create a calm atmosphere. Doors close five minutes before the session begins. Anyone arriving later than that time will not be admitted so the space can remain quiet and undisturbed.

Do I have to lie down the entire time?

Most participants lie down for the duration, but you may sit up, stretch, or adjust quietly as needed. Comfort is always encouraged.

Can I sit up or move during the sound bath?

Yes, gentle movement or changing positions is welcome. Move mindfully to maintain the peaceful environment for others.

Is it normal to fall asleep?

Yes. Falling asleep is common and perfectly fine. Your body still receives the benefits of the sound even when your mind drifts off.

What if I feel emotional during the session?

Sound can help release stored emotions or memories. Tears, warmth, or waves of energy are normal responses. Allow whatever arises naturally—this is part of the body’s healing process.

Are there visual effects or lights?

Lighting is kept soft and tranquil. Sessions may include gentle ambient glow or candlelight, but never strobe or flashing lights.

Can I record or take pictures?

Phones and recording devices should remain off during the session to maintain presence and respect for everyone’s experience. Occasionally, short clips may be taken for promotional purposes with prior consent.

What should I do after a sound bath to integrate the experience?

Drink water, move slowly, and give yourself time to process the experience. Gentle stretching, journaling, or spending quiet time in nature can help you integrate the effects.

Can I drive or go back to work right after?

Yes, but you may feel more relaxed or inwardly focused. Allow yourself a few minutes of quiet before re-engaging with the outside world.

How long do the effects last?

Many people feel the effects for several hours or days. With consistent practice, sound healing can help support long-term stress reduction and emotional balance.

How often should I attend to notice benefits?

Even one session can make a difference, but regular participation—weekly, biweekly, or monthly—deepens the results over time as your body learns to relax more easily.

Can I combine sound healing with other wellness practices like yoga or hypnotherapy?

Yes. Sound healing complements yoga, meditation, and hypnotherapy beautifully. Many of our experiences intentionally weave these modalities together for a more complete mind-body practice.

Who should avoid sound healing or check with their doctor first?

Sound healing is gentle, restorative, and safe for most people. However, because it works through vibration and resonance, there are a few situations where it’s best to use extra care or consult a healthcare provider before attending a session.

You should avoid or speak with your doctor before participating if any of the following apply to you:

• Pregnancy (especially during the first trimester)
While many expectant mothers find sound deeply calming, the low tones of gongs or large crystal bowls can be quite powerful. Always consult your doctor or midwife before attending.

• Epilepsy or seizure disorders
Certain frequencies or sudden changes in tone can occasionally trigger seizures in sensitive individuals. Please check with your neurologist or healthcare provider before joining.

• Pacemakers, hearing aids, or metal implants
The vibrational fields of some instruments may interfere with pacemakers or cause sensitivity near metal implants. Please let your practitioner know about any devices or implants beforehand.

• Chemotherapy or radiation treatment
People undergoing active cancer treatment often experience heightened sensitivity to vibration and sound. Because the body is already processing strong energetic and chemical changes, we recommend consulting your oncologist or waiting until after treatment to attend.

• Recent surgery, open wounds, or acute injuries
Sound healing increases circulation and energy flow, which can interfere with immediate post-surgical recovery. Wait until your doctor confirms you are fully healed before participating.

• Severe mental health challenges (psychosis, schizophrenia, etc.)
Sound journeys can bring up deep emotions and altered states of consciousness. For those currently experiencing severe psychiatric symptoms, this may feel destabilizing. Please speak with your mental health provider first.

• Sensory sensitivity or PTSD
Some individuals with trauma histories or sound sensitivity may find loud or complex tones overstimulating. Please inform us in advance if this applies to you—we can adjust volume, instruments, and proximity to ensure a comfortable experience.

Hypnotherapy

What happens during a hypnotherapy session?
Hypnotherapy begins with conversation about your goals, followed by a guided relaxation process that integrates sound therapy to calm the body and focus the mind. You’ll enter a natural state of heightened awareness where we work with the subconscious mind to release patterns and promote positive change.

Is this a medical or psychological service?
No. Our hypnotherapy sessions are wellness-based and focused on relaxation, mindset, and personal development. We do not provide medical or psychological diagnosis or treatment. If you are under the care of a physician, therapist, or psychiatrist, hypnotherapy can often complement your existing care, but it should not replace it.

Can hypnotherapy help with conditions like depression or trauma?
Our sessions are not designed to treat clinical depression, trauma, or other mental health disorders. If you are currently receiving therapy or medical treatment for these concerns, hypnotherapy may serve as a supportive tool to help with stress management, grounding, or emotional balance—but always in coordination with your licensed healthcare provider.

Do I need to believe in hypnosis for it to work?
Not at all. Hypnotherapy is a natural state of focused awareness and relaxation. You remain fully in control throughout the session. Many people find that even their first experience brings a sense of clarity, calm, and renewed focus.

Can I bring someone with me?
Sessions are one-on-one to ensure privacy, focus, and depth of experience. Because hypnotherapy requires individual attention and a controlled environment, guests or companions are not permitted to attend sessions.

How many sessions will I need?
That depends on your goals. Some people benefit from a single session to gain clarity or release tension, while others choose a series to build momentum and reinforce new patterns. We can discuss an appropriate plan during your first session.

What does it feel like to be in hypnosis?
Most people describe it as deeply relaxing—like meditation or daydreaming while remaining aware. You’ll hear every word and remember what happens. You can open your eyes or move at any time.

Is sound therapy always included?
Yes. Sound is an integral part of every session, used at the beginning to help the nervous system settle and sometimes again at the end to support integration. Instruments may include crystal bowls, gongs, chimes, or handpan, depending on your needs.

Is hypnotherapy safe?
Yes. Hypnosis is a natural and safe state of focused relaxation. You are always in control and cannot be made to say or do anything against your will. Our approach is gentle, supportive, and trauma-informed.

Memberships & Packages

Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes — we offer gift certificates for private sessions, group classes, and memberships. They never expire and can be redeemed for any eligible Yoga Sound Bath offering.

Do packages or credits expire?
No. Packages, credits, and gift certificates never expire. After one year, any remaining balance converts to its monetary value, which can be applied toward future services.

What does the Yoga Sound Bath Membership include?
Your membership gives you two group class credits per month, valid for any Sunday Reset or Monday Release & Recenter class (or other group wellness events, unless otherwise noted). Members also receive 20% off all additional group events and private sessions, including Sound Healing and Hypnotherapy.

How much does membership cost?
Membership is $60 per month with a four-month minimum commitment. After that, it automatically renews monthly unless you choose to cancel.

How do I cancel my membership?
Simply send us an email before your next billing cycle with the specific date you’d like your membership to end. There are no cancellation fees as long as the initial four-month commitment has been completed.

Can I pause my membership?
Yes. You may pause your membership once per year for up to one month. This option is ideal if you need to travel or take a brief break from classes. To request a pause, email us at least one week before your next billing date.

Do unused class credits roll over?
Credits do not roll over from month to month. To get the most from your membership, we recommend scheduling your two classes early each month—this helps maintain consistency and ensures your spot in popular sessions.

How do I book my classes?
Once you’re a member, you can schedule classes through our online booking system. Your monthly credits will automatically apply at checkout, and your 20% member discount will appear on any additional bookings.

Can I share my membership with someone else?
Memberships are non-transferable and intended for individual use. However, friends and family are always welcome to attend classes by purchasing their own class credits or drop-in passes.

What if I want to attend more than two classes per month?
Members can purchase additional class credits or event tickets at 20% off the standard rate, allowing you to attend as often as you like.

What happens if I miss a class?
If you cancel within the required window (typically 24 hours before class start), your credit will return to your account. Late cancellations or no-shows will forfeit the credit, as space is limited for all sessions.

Are there any hidden fees?
None. Your monthly membership includes your two class credits and ongoing discount. Optional add-ons like private sessions or extended sound baths are simply billed as you book them.

Practitioners & Credentials

Are your practitioners certified?
Yes. All Yoga Sound Bath practitioners are trained and certified in their respective fields — including yoga instruction, sound healing, and clinical hypnotherapy. We uphold high standards of care, professionalism, and ongoing education.

How are sound healing practitioners trained?
Our practitioners complete advanced training in sound therapy, instrument technique, and nervous system regulation. They are skilled in using multiple modalities — from crystal and brass bowls to gongs and chimes — to create safe, restorative experiences.

Policies

What are your cancellation policies?
We ask that all cancellations be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid forfeiting your session or class credit. This policy ensures fairness and allows others to book available spaces.

Do you offer refunds?
All sales are final. We do not offer refunds for unused sessions, packages, or memberships.

What if I’m late?
Please plan to arrive early.

  • For private sessions, arriving more than 15 minutes late will result in a canceled session without a refund.

  • For group sessions, entry is not permitted if you arrive later than five minutes before class begins, to protect the peace and serenity of all participants.

Can I transfer my sessions or credits to someone else?
No. Packages and credits are non-transferable, though they may be shared with one partner if specified in your purchase.

Experience & Environment

What should I bring?
Just yourself and comfortable clothing. We provide mats, blankets, bolsters, and all necessary props. Feel free to bring your own water bottle or journal if you’d like to reflect after class.

What does the space feel like?
Our studio environment is intentionally designed to be calm, spacious, and welcoming — with low lighting, comfortable props, and carefully tuned acoustics to enhance your relaxation experience.

What if I fall asleep during a sound bath?
That’s perfectly okay — it’s actually quite common. The body and mind receive the benefits of the sound frequencies, whether you remain fully awake or drift into a meditative rest state.

Is sound healing safe for everyone?
Sound healing is generally safe for most people. However, those with pacemakers, seizure disorders, or sound sensitivity should consult with a healthcare provider before attending.
